Hi, when you say just died, did it go off instintly, or the revs dropped and it cut out?

iv done both so heres a solution to both.....

if everything just went off - all power etc.. the wiring is usualy earthing on the frame, check the harnis.

if the revs dropped and it cut out, you NEED to clean your carb, the symtoms your saying are pretty much spot on for a blocked carb, there will probly be a piece of dirt in the petrol flow, so when you ride, not enough petrol gets into the bike, but if you leave it to settle, the carb fills up enough for you to ride for a few minutes.

So far as i know it hasn't got a choke it just came off or something like that or thats they said when i bought it anyway but i dont know what im looking for so im guessing it hasn't got a choke anymore. It's also got a full arrow exhaust system on it so i dont know if that might have anything to do with the choke or not i'm not sure but thanks for all the help and suggestions.

take the carb out, take some pictures of it from different angles, post them on here, we'll have a look and if you dont know how to take it apart, that can be explained easier with pictures.

Hi,
Sorry i haven't replyed on here for a while ive been really busy and just haven't had the time but i did manage to take my rs apart and had a look at the carb and there is nothing rong with it looked at the filter and the float needle and bowl and they are fine but i did find out the bike was being starved of fuel because the fuel tap on the tank doesn't let any petrol out when its switched on so im running it on reserve at the moment.
Thanks for all the help guys
