 |
|
Ohh what a joy this process has been
I am about to get my hands on a pit bike and obviously need to sort some insurance out for it.
However My current insurers (Lexham Insurance) and also MCE, Rampdale, Ebike, CarolNash no one is coming in less than £386
The general consensus from them is...
1. North London Post code - bollox, this is TPO insurance, it shouldn't make a difference
2. It's a pit bike and insurers don't like pit bikes.
So I know these get asked regularly on here but can anyone recommend an insurance company which is not biased against pit bikes?
Bike - Shineray XY125GY VIII
Location - North London, N19 2SU (no, not my post code but close enough)
Insurance required - TPO (TPFT would be nice but if it out values the bike then no thanks)
Me - 18 (19 next month!), full bike license, 1.8 years no claims but locked on my other bike so doesn't count
Binge, who are you with as you are near london?
thanks a lot,

I got my monkey bike insured for around £370 at 16. |
I have tried a couple but I haven't found one that lists "shineray" as a make.
Several have "shineray/vixen" listed but they seem to be a quad manufacturors. ____________________ Current - Hornet 600, Transalp 650, X140 Pit, GPZ400R

Don't know if they do pit bikes but aQuote are pretty cheap for bike insurance. I insured a zl600 and an xv125 on a joint policy, fully comp with business use for £90. Mind I did have 5 years no claims, am female, old and live in Derbyshire! ____________________ www.ribcrackersmcc.co.uk

Insured my monkey with Privilege.
Don't expect it to be really cheap even if TPO is the best you can get. There are dedicated insurers for monkeys and the likes. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

Sorted!
I was speaking to a mate who currently works at an insurance company and he recommended that I give his old employer a call and see what they can do.
Sooo....
Now got it for £305 TPO
Compared to all other quotes I have had, all above £390,When they said 305 straight off the bat I went for it. So all sorted now and insurance starts next Friday when the bike arrives
Thanks all for recommendations, much appreciated. ____________________ Current - Hornet 600, Transalp 650, X140 Pit, GPZ400R
