tyre valve problem

Had a new rear BT45 fitted today.

Got the wheel home, fitted it, checked pressure. Went to use footpump to add a little air, but strangely the footpump's pressure gauge only rose slowly. I pumped the tyre up but it was harder work than usual. I tested the pump on a few other tyres and it's fine, same with my seperate pressure gauge.

Obviously the new valve isn't opening properly, although it's holding pressure fine and opens when prodded with the correct tool on the back of the gauge - but - is this likely to be dangerous? I can't get to the tyre fitters until saturday.

Check to make sure the valve core is screwed all the way in. If it is and you are still having problems swap it for a new one. They are available free from your neighbours cars, but best to get one when they are asleep.
