iirc teeth along with bones are weekend by the furnace and anything not ashes at the end gets ground down by machine

Souvenir of a misspent youth in Africa. I used to go out with a dentist and I made a lot of bangles and necklaces from pulled teeth. I was well into punk and it scared the hell out of the natives.

They use a machine called a cremulator. Something like this:

Apparently, when you cremate babies and very young children,
their bones are so soft that you get few, if any, ashes. But the staff
at the crematorium always find some from somewhere to give to the
parents.
