Here too, adjust the idle as I go.
Sounds like a spark plug cap has been dislodged in the process of working under the tank.
Other things to check are that all of the blanking plugs are replaced after removing the gauges, and that the gauges themselves read the same (tee them together and apply a vacuum source to them to see if they read equally). ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Hi guys.
I am using a morgan carbtune with the 4 gauges. Pete, I think you might be on the right track with dislodging a spark plug cap. I unbolted the coil packs because they were in the way of the adjustment screws.
I'm going to go out and feel all the downpipes and see if they all heat up. Will that tell me if it's dislodged or not?
Thanks for any help.
I am 99 percent sure that the blocking hoses were attached properly because I was aware that this was a possibility so I made sure to do it right. |

Thanks for all your help guys.
It turns out the number 4 HT lead had come off of the plug cap during reassembly of the bike. For some reason it just pulls straight out of the plug cap. The other's don't do this. The bike is sorted now but I'd like to sort it so that it doesn't just pull out.
Do you guys know how to sort this?
Thanks again. |

Many plug caps are screw-on. If these type don't stay fixed then either the screw is spinning in the cap or the hole in the lead is too big for the screw to grip.
Look up the hole where the HT lead goes to determine if it's a screw-on type. Stop the screw spinning with a dribble of cyno glue and let it cure well or cut 10mm off the HT lead to fix the hole.
If it's not a screw-on cap just add glue then stuff the cap on as hard as you can. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
