Interestingly enough, my best mucker is an officer in the Army. In his last posting which he has just left, he was the only straight guy in his mess. There were 8 living in members, 2 were lesbians, and the rest gay blokes.

That's progress for you!

I suspect your lack of luck with the laydeez is more down to you referring to them as 'birds' rather than you being in the army.

Or...
Get drunk and lie to women about what you do?
I'm one of those people that find it hard to tell the truth, ever, even if I want to/plan to, I just compulsively lie to people.
For example, my name is Kris and I'm away to study my honours year at university, for Forensic Science (which some women find quite interesting if someone says this).
However, once when chatting someone up this (roughly) is how it went:
Them: "So, what's your name?"
Me: "Craig"
Them: "And what is it you do?"
Me: "Oh, I'm at college studying sociology"
Them: "K, bye"

Other terribly dull jobs I've "had" include, Offshore worker, Admin assistant and soil technician (yes, that's a real job title of someone, somewhere.)
I've always lied. I lie to my family, friends, girlfriend, teachers, bosses, workmates. All about the most trivial of things, and I can't stop myself.

Of course what I'm saying is pretend you're something interesting, don't just lie in general.

From then on, I and the bicycle feelings deeper.

Read my post again, sillymuggins. MY lies were boring, but I advise against that.

Im not personally being sterotypical here at all but generally girls think along the lines that a boyfriend in the forces wont be around much and so may be off sha*ging around whilst your away.
On the plus side though, some girls obviously see it as a turn on as its a brave career etc!

I would see the 1st as true, especially if the lads are young,
but I will be honest, its the uniform for me Mr. Green

the uniform certainly does help Laughing

I do think though its generally the trust issue with any new relationship and so with someone not being around it does put people off. Especially if the guy is a bit of a 'lad' and out drinking with his mates when hes got time off lol

Hmmm, just an observation but I think what you'll find is that the stamp on your forehead now says 'easy lay, as normally desperate and not very fussy' which makes anyone less appealing. It's not like someone wants a massive challenge, it's just you like to think that your fella is a little choosy.

Personally, it's sad stereotyping but having lived in and around forces places for a long time now you do tend to focus on the loud and gobby ones 'saying, hey I'm in the Army' and they do tend to conform to this view and the way they behave can be pretty off putting. It's the nice quiet ones that are attractive, but as far as a long term relationship is concerned it's a hell of a struggle. You can't always help who you fall in love with and that'll be what makes it worth while.

In summary - gobb off all you like if you just want easy one night stands, otherwise keep your mouth shut and eyes open and you'll spot the 'keepers' Wink
