Nigerian police arrested scores of motorcycle taxi-riders with dried pumpkin shells, paint pots, pans or pieces of rubber tyre tied to their heads to avoid a new law requiring them to wear crash helmets.

Drivers said the helmets were too expensive and passengers feared catching skin diseases or coming under a black magic spell... Laughing
