......................Mito, yep. The bike shop near my house has got mid way through there project of sticking a CR500 lump in a little mito. They reckon it will be finnished in about 2 months, engine is in, but still loads of work to do.

its been done.
it was also decided it was a bad idea as it cracks the headstock welds due to vibration.

so unless they reinforce the headstock, tell them its a pretty temprimental project.

Silly, silly idea IMO.

If you're going to do it, best donor frame is the TZR125 4DL or the TZR250.

Single-disc brake with 80 bhp at the back wheel? Don't think so!

80hp? Not without a fair bit of work.
Something like 55-65hp at the crank I believe.
Plenty of bikes in that range with a single disc.

While having more power can mean using brakes more often, I'd say twin discs are more important when weight and top speed go up.

Never seen a road CR500 conversion that actually works well - seems pretty rare people are actually faster off-road with them as well, apart from for desert racing and the like.

CR500 engine in a road bike needs eveerrry thing needs lock tight and rubber mounts etc. can be done but not in a mito come on stick it back in a dirt bike/supermoto
