Been waiting for this gem to come back again. They'll tack on compulsory leg protectors as well if we're lucky.

It's bollocks, if they do this they should limit all cars to 100bhp too. Noooo never harm the car driver. Pass you bike test and for 2 years you're on 33bhp, pass you car test and you can have a lambo! Discrimination

Nothing wrong with that - no one can ever use all of 100bhp on the roads

As above, a link to these 'proposals' please, to prove that the petition isn't just a petition to show the government how stupid we are Wink.

Or maybe a simular power:weight ratio *might* be a little more realistic Rolling Eyes

TBH 100bhp is a IL4 600cc which isnt exactly slow. Would be the end of thous which would be shame.....

Depends what you mean by 'use'. Today I held my throttle pretty much wide-open in second gear to near the redline, which should have put down a decent chunk over 100hp down. Same on most days.

Sure I don't need to, but then I could just take a push bike if we're talking 'need'.

Since its EU law the Puppet government certainly cannot do anything about it.

The new bike test for example, Government are just puppets rolling it out, its that bad that Brussels made the British govt, who inturn made the DSA use frecking metric speeds on a road network which uses Imperial speeds!

i dont even see how you can enforce this.
How the f00k do you make every bike in the country 100bhp or less?
Would be just another law that wouldnt/couldnt be enforced

Peds are restricted to 30mph, but does that stop them de-restricting them illegally?

If there was a 100bhp limit proposal, then it would be on the MAG website and it is not.

Show me the proposals, and I'll show you a response from MAG.

I'm not agreeing with the government but I was under the impression that when restricting a bike it's the top end of the performance that is usually lost while the initial acceleration is kept because of the size of the engine? I could be wrong of course but I'm sure someone told me this.

Maybe this is if the revs are restricted below what the bike can red-line at... so as long as you can still get to the sweet gear change spot I can't see a reason to really complain until you hit your top gear and you're not allowed to go silly speeds 150MPH. However, you would still be able to get to your top speed a lot faster than most things on the road AND you'd be saving money on maintenance costs with the lack of redlining!

Nah, you can complain (if it IS true) due to the fact that it's another little bit taken away from us, regardless if you use/or even have, or want 100bhp or more. Then they'll keep nibbling away and nibbling away.

Oh my god where has this bollocks come from this time? I thought MCN didn't come out until wednesday??

'you cant use 100bhp on the road'

Perhaps not in some horrible little city centre but Im sure I canuse every single pony everytime I go out. What a ridiculous statement. If i wanted to potter about I would buy some underpowered piece of shit and smile myself to sleep because i could use 'its full potential' when filtering or taking a bend at 30. Good god! You performance is down to the thrust, which is basically the torque x gearing. Power is torque * rpm. Trouble is that if you limit power you essentially limit the rpm, which means you have to run higher gearing which limits the torque at the back wheel.

All the best
