Not the most intelligent thing, but today whilst leaving the house i popped a wheelie down my road and noticed a police officer on foot at the end of the road. He was around the corner so did not get sight of me doing it but defiantly heard it as allot of heads turned around as i appeared and the bike was revving a fair bit since it was all in first (Did not actually go over 30)

Anyway As he saw me approaching i saw him reaching for his notepad to take my plate number which im fairly sure he managed to get since i drove off very slowly.

Any idea if this will follow me? Should i be expecting a visit from the local rossers, or can they not do anything?

Thanks

They have no evidence.

Don't you remember hitting a false neutral as you left home causing the bike to rev in an abnormal fashion?

Well its not stopped him from doing them Smile He seems to drive that KTM around town on its back wheel.

Ok well thanks for the info. A friend of mine was reported by an ambulance for dangerous driving a few weeks ago and he had a visit from the local police about his driving. Im not sure what they did, i think it was just a warning, but i think i should prepare myself just encase they do come around Sad

No more wheelies for now.

I can't believe people are asking why he did a wheelie! I know it's not big, and I know it's not clever, but by Christ it's bloody funny!

It's a stupid thing to do in your road, if not just because it gives your neighbours something to bitch about. Rolling Eyes

Well im not sure what's going on with that yet since we are still looking for a garage to start the project. We came up with the idea of converting an old boat trailer matt has into a bike/people trailer, still not sure which one Smile. Were also still unsure on what the legal issues there might be when towing a 10ft boat trailer from a bike Smile But hell, who cares it sounds like a laugh.

preeettty much identical to what i got. apart from they actually saw me.

you'll get scared for about a week then ride normally again.

you'll probably get a phonecall or letter in the post saying about your section 59. they can give it for a loud exhaust. (or NO exhaust in your case).

also... hows this for a plan?

if either of us get another S59, sign the bike over and date it the day after the incident. and vice versa.

they cant seize a bike you dont own.

Trailer Law and Safety for SOLO motorcycles.
The maximum permitted width of a trailer towed behind a motorcycle in the UK is 100cm.
The maximum all up loaded weight of a trailer must not be greater than 150 KG
or two thirds of the towing bikes unladen weight.
The maximum speed permitted whilst towing is 60 mph.
Learner riders CAN NOT tow a trailer in the UK.
A full motorcycle licence is required to do so.
The motorcycle must be 125cc or above.

From https://www.f2motorcycles.ltd.uk/trailers.html

Doesn't mention length now does it Razz Razz

EDIT:

Just found a regulation where the rearmost part of the trailer must be no greater then 2.5m from the rear axle on the m/c......

The trailer not the load on the trailer thought.... so you could try and make a loophole, like the board the bike sits on is part of the load and not the trailer itself......

Some guy said :"The 2.5m reg is not so much of an issue as it states the 'trailers' rear most part... not the load, if you run a warning triangle/marker light that distance is considerably more. If your sneaky and run the trailer axle at very rear of the trailer your balance point of loading is also moved back.... sooo that 2.5m could be doubled effectively to nearly 5mts which would be enough for an average canoe (think the monster Pelican Canadian is 5.3mts!)."

That in itself is odd... Very Happy Very Happy

If he didnt see you though then dont worry - like it has been said you could say you hit a false neutral.

I think you should post a picture of your exhaust to show why you might have attracted a little attention by revving up Laughing
