My 95 FZR600 coughs and bogs and will not run out above 1/4 throttle. Removed the carbs, totally cleaned, have played with the air/fuel screw, blocked off the intake, opened the intake... Ignition? Starts easy, idles great, runs great up to 1/4 throttle, will tach out to 7 or 8 grand if you have a long enough road. Jetting?

Ideas please, thanks Owen.

check your fuel tap and filter if fitted. Also take the bike for a spin with the fuel cap open-there is a breather in the cap that if blocked impedes fuel flow. If its there set your tap to PRIME and see if that cures the issue.

Thanks for your replies.

I removed the fuel tap (petcock) and cleaned it out, working well. Tested it w/o the fuel cap, runs the same.

Has the stock airbox/filter, tested it with intake partially blocked and removed the filter and then removed the entire box... runs the same all ways.

Coils? Does anyone have the OHM specs, I'll test them that way. However I imagine that coils only work or do not work... that's what Yoda says anyway.

Could it be the jet needle setting (too high, too low) ? I did not check it when I had the carbs off. BTW it does have the factory jets.

Thanks, Owen.

Hi

Another thing to check is that the diaphragms in the carbs are all in decent condition. If they are perished them the slides won't lift.

All the best

Keith
