Could I reasonably expect to fit an average-sized bike in the back of a Polo hatchback?

I'm thinking of buying a project with no MOT or tax so obviously riding it home is not an option. Would it fit? Should I take tools with me to remove the wheels/forks/etc?

My car is a Mondeo Estate. A Monkey bike will fit inside.
A complete mountain bike (or 4) will go in on its side with some length to play with.

A motorbike is substantially larger and, even in a Mondeo wagon, would be a struggle to get in and out without significant dismantling.

Having said that, my Dad once carried a C50 with his Mk2 Cavalier hatchback. The front end wa hanging out of the back though.

If its not it parts already take it apart and you should get it in there

I had a Jawa 350 in a 2-door Morris Minor Saloon, admittedly with all but the driver's seat removed. So yes, it'll fit, although the bike might need a bit of dismantling.
