The engine turnsover, but the carb won't take in fuel, i tried puting fuel directly in the carb still nothing. No oil in the engine because just bought and courior requires seller to take oil out. Don't want to put oil incase the engine will not start anyway. The spark plug does give a spark (tried dipping in petrol and not starting).

fill engine with oil before u do anything even cheap stuff won't cost much

then take carb off and check float has not got stuck in transit which would stop fuel getting in

if u pour petrol in it will never start as it will just foul the spark plug instantly.

firstly fill the engine with oil (it only takes about a litre any way) then check that the kill switch is on and that the petrol and vacuum tap hoses are on and not leaking,
turn the engine over a few times and check if the fuel is getting into the carb from the tank by undoing the drail plug at the bottom of the carb, If fuel comes out but it still won't start then the next step would be to check for a spark,
If you have a spark at the lead when checked using a spare plug check that the plug in the engine is sparking and is not wet with petrol,

If the plug is wet replace it with your new spare plug and try again (best to replace it anyway even if it was dry), if the plug was dry then try spraying easy start or carb cleaner into the carb If it fires up then the carb probably wants cleaning.

If your still having problems try using both keys as the immobiliser may have reset itself, there is a sticky section at the top of the workshop somewhere that I posted links to scooter immobiliser codes and reseting precedures ages ago.

found the link here you go https://www.wotmeworry.org.uk/manuals/

If still no luck then checking the valve clearences is always favorite on those leader engines when they get hard to start as they do like to tighten up.
