I hate it ... no I actually loathe it Evil or Very Mad

I think the main problem is that I have no interest in going round shops with the masses, but more importantly I never know what to get ... Thumbs Down

It is also a minefield as I end up getting cr4p for myself that I didn't really need/want!! ... like today I bought a 'cheapo' SAS plastic BB gun set! Embarassed

So x-mass shopping, love or loathe??

The only reason I go to the Trafford Centre is to sit with a cup of coffee and watch the tight bodies with pert breasts, nice hips, showing a bit of flesh, hard nipples, camel toe, ripe arses, the three finger crotch gap, nice hair, big deep eyes, nice smiles, toned and tanned.............. what was the question?

That is fine if you know what you are going to get ... I tend to just wander round the shops trying to wait for something to catch my eye .. which probably accounts for why I end up with stuff for ME when actually shopping for others .... Embarassed

Where is the option for, I hate shopping and get all my stuff online and for the first year I have actually bought my family so that I wont feel guilty when I get pound shop tat back again. Breath. And I have all my presents paid for and waiting on some to arive and I just went and spent a lot of money on cool decs for the house even though my attic looks like an xmas shop as my brother is an xmas fanatic and left them here but I dont fancy using them as it will probably blow up the town grid in electricity usage. And breath again.

You know on a fine lady, just where there is a gap at the top of the inner thigh/crotch, a three finger gap is my ideal. Thumbs Up

+1 Thumbs Up

Ebay-Type in what the person you're buying for likes(ie band, footie team,hobbies,whatever-spend an hour browsing through pages until something catches your eye-pay instantly through paypal-wait a few days for badly wrapped parcel or jiffy bag-wrap in fancy paper-job done.

Alternatavely-just give them cash,a gift might be great at the time and they may seem like they appreciate the thought thats gone into it-but at the end of the day the ungrateful bastards always want something differant

I went to the Trafford centre the other week to browse for ideas ( had a nice breakfast and lunch there Smile ) then did all my shopping online. Just waiting for a few bits to arrive. I have even bought all my cards online and they are now written and put away until December.

The thing that most pisses me off is how, even this close to xmas, I hear the all too familiar whine from the staff "Sorry, it's out of stock. Butwecanorderitforyou! Very Happy "

Fvck OFF! If I was happy to wait for it to be ordered I'd get it online. Which you'd think would be cheaper, but how many of these online retailers are now charging full high-street prices?

So yeah, I absolutely loathe xmas shopping. Went to Model Zone to get stuff for my son, they had not one single item that was shown on their website, but they did have a load of similar stuff that was about twice the price. They got not a penny of my money, and won't now.

It's almost as if the useless cvnts don't want to make money.

I love shopping for my wife... I spend a day wandering around all the little boutiques in York buying her stuff I know she'll love.

As for family, I started a tradition when I got married where I buy everyone a Christmas decoration. There's a shop in York called Christmas Angels, it's an all year round Christmas shop. It takes all of 5 minutes to wander in there, pick up a load of little wooden decorations and then pay for them. They look bespoke and hand-made so everyone goes nuts for them, thinking I've put in loads of time and effort... when actually they're about a fiver each and I barely looked at what I was buying when in the shop! Cool

My Mrs does the shopping, I supply the money. Laughing

I can't stand walking around shop after shop. She loves it so I'm quite happy for her to do it! Very Happy Thumbs Up

Never could stand christmas shopping !
5 minutes is a crowded shop and i'm close to going postal.

This year is going to be great. No wife and her deranged family to deal with just me and my son Smile

As is birthdays close to christmas i'm getting him one big present for both and were going away on holiday.

My family just send cards its simple. No worrying about what to get each other and ending up with mountains of de-icer Rolling Eyes

Ah ... cards ... I walked straight past Clintons and went into somewhere called 'Card factory' they did cards for as little as 29p!! Cool ... the ones I got for the 'special' people were no more than 89p each .. bargain .. and they looks just as nice as a £2.50?? one from Clintons - had glitter and everything!! Smile

I then went down the rather dismal looking PO and bought a dozen stamps .. it was best part of a fiver!! Shocked

At that price, I should have gone on strike/sit down protest in front of their counter!! Laughing

I love buying presents for my friends and family, but I hate shopping in crowded shops. All my presents are either bought or ordered now and I always aim to have them all bought and wrapped before the end of November.

As for Christmas Cards I have always made my own and again they will all be made and written by the end of this month. I then post or deliver closer to Christmas, as I hate sending them too early.

Present buying is easy if you take a genuine interest in the folk you buy for. Only time it gets tricky is when money is tight - it's the thought that counts though and as long as I've put thought into it and wrapped it nicely I know nothing else will matter - my folks are great like that, thank goodness!

Cool what am I getting!?!?! Smile

I think half the problem is just that, you have to buy for people you have no interest in, like the in-laws and nieces&nephews etc. Thumbs Down

There's a place I go to called the Curiosity Corner. Last time I went I got a pack of 6 cards for 20p. Great for birthdays Laughing

I don't give people Christmas cards.

I tell people that my gift to them is that they do not have to get me anything, and that anything they intended spending on me should be spent on themselves.

Funny that the MoneySavingExpert blog has a post on the subject this week :-

Before I was married, I used to go Xmas shopping with my mates, always ending in an afternoon in the pub. Went into Debenhams first one year and bought £150 worth of vouchers and rather smugly said, "See you in Yates's". Cool

Got the idea off my uncle who really ought to write a book on succesful batchelordom, but this would require effort and is thus completley out of the question.

Very pleased I don't have to do your Christmas shopping - all those kids to buy for and I bet the rest of your family all have loads of off-spring too. Hope Georgie gets more than 'fallen' sprouts for Christmas dinner Mr. Green

Don't have to buy for people I don't see often or even know, like some!! I only have a handful of presents to get, so I can really enjoy it and go to town - makes it a real pleasure and not a chore.

Am I the only one with perverse enough taste to notice that little banner thing that sticks out onto the street says "MZ" at Model Zone shops??
