Someone was having a similar problem earlier. Again, I would suggest taking a look at the ignition components, particularly if the bike has been out in this rain we've been having.
If I had a quid for every time I've had problems with engines cutting out and generally buggering about as a result of a bit of water getting somewhere it shouldn't I'd be wealthy. Or at least a bit less poor
Normally 2 stroke pipes are only playing a part in a bike not running well if they're chock full of crap or have a hole in somewhere (though that wouldn't normally cause the motor to cut out).
Biggest culprit in descending order is duff plug, rotten bit at the end of the HT lead, trapped or damaged wiring, dodgy/leaky ignition coil, leaky or damaged ignition switch (or wiring from same), water in the alternator components. I never hurts to check, or to give everything a blast with WD.
Also be sure to sure the fuel filler cap vent - a bit of dirt in that will cause the motor to die after running a short while. |
