Don't buy a big bike before doing your full bike test. I bought an SV and all I can do is bloody look at it!!! Failed my Mod 2 and now I can't stop thinking about my bike that I can't ride.

Mate....what happened to the bright side? You will re-take and you will pass...use your much loved SV to motivate you. What if you did pass the test first time and had no money to buy a bike for 2 years? Does that mean doing the test is pointless? No. Having the bike in the garage should really motivate to not give up. Failing is really crap, i passed 3rd time and the two times i failed i was so derepssed thought i will kill the examiner . The weather is really crap anyway...use the 6 months left till summer to pass the test and once the summer will come...that's when the fun will start...Good luck!!! ____________________ DAS 18/06/09 Off The Kerb Motorcycle Training. Look outside - weather is shite. I would fret if it was June...but there's plenty of time to get your test passed and enjoy next summer |

Daf mate, i'm sure it was you i got in touch with ages ago, and you said you were looking for something like a Fazer?
Talking about the brightside, just think, the moment you pass your test and get the insurance sorted, it's sitting there waiting to be ridden, as soon as you get back from passing you can get straight on her and hit the road!
That's awesome though buddy, SV650's are lovely bikes. Even if you can't legally ride it, and it is tormenting to look at, you can still get on her and start her up, give her some revs, that alone would cheer me up a lot, and possibly even make my day
Congrats with your mod 1 mate |

My SV felt insane compared to my CB500, I couldn't believe they were the same insurance group!
BTW, if you haven't already come join us on the SV forums. ____________________ Previous: 2002 Honda CB500 (sold), 2007 Suzuki SV650SK6 (crashed), 2005 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer (sold). Currently bikeless

And what's stopping you riding it around in a car park/disused airfield or industrial park to get a bit of extra practice in... ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

I had my current bike waiting for me..teasing me...so i put it in the works lockup. I had to ride it down there it was great.
Spent the odd weekend giving it a fettle, which was good learning.
Soon as i passed my test i rode my CG to its new owner, walked up the road and took my 250 for a legal spin...It was even better than i remembered.....for about 2 months Now it feels apart of me....natural.
All good things to those that wait.
You'll get there
