Yeah, the starter motor turns the wrong way. I rotate the really big sprocket on the crankshaft of my 83 GSX250 and in one direction it spins free and the other it turns the crank. Yet my starter motor has managed to start spinning it the wrong way.

How the heck does that happen?

The chassis being a common ground and the starter only having one lead that can be connected to the relay, I sure as hell haven't wired it up wrong.

you may have reasembled the startermotor brushes assembly 180 degrees out , or the case that holds the plate

Yeah I'd check your connection polarity to double check!

Seeing as its is a DC motor if the polarity is reversed so will be the direction of motion. Left hand rule and all that....
