My mate Bought a gsxr k6 600 last month and got it restricted to 33bhp.He says he can get 120mph out of it.Is this true

How can the 675 be the second fastest 600?
I'd learn to keep a simply 125 stroker road worthy before you jump on a highly strung 675, or a sports 600 for that matter. ____________________ It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it's bloody hilarious!!! |

The 675 is a great bike IMHO.
Only problems I found where it was tiny and the riding position hurt.
Quite a revvy engine with globs of torque available.
The Street Triple is better IMHO but then I ride a Speed Triple so Im slightly biased.
Parts are easy to find, usual sources, ebay & Triumphant in wales or just pop into your local dealer, most are usually friendly.
EDIT:
More info than you will ever need:

half_lyfe are you honestly saying you found the engine unrewarding and less impressive then your r6?
and as for comparing it to a il4 it has more grunt then a il4 so on the road it should have more thrill factor then the il4 |
its no where near as rewarding to ride as an r6!!! completley different league, the r6 is like a rabid pitbul and the gixxer/ street tripple felt like a little terrior, sure it had a bit of a bite but it wasnt full on in your face crazy like the r6 is.
the ducati therefore should be the most rewarding bike to ride on the road? shit loads of torque... nope, the engine is boring and dull to ride hard. if the handiling and brakes and looks wernt so amazing i wouldnt ever own a twin! its got loads of power the second you open it but it doesnt gain any sense of emergency. sure it fells like im more on the limit of the twins engine and it is tamer.
note im only comparing engines.
if i imagined the 3 bikes were people in a bar fight:
the ducati - someone mouths him off in a bar, immediatley picks up a bar stool and smashes it over someones head, and then proceeds to punch a few people
the street tripple - someone mouths him off - triumph gets angry and calls him a tosser, bloke then punches street tripple in face, street triplle whacks the guy in the face and then proceeds to start windmilling anyone he sees.
the r6 - guy yells at him, r6 just sits quietley in the corner, guy throws a pint glass at r6, r6 just sits there, guy kicks r6 in the bollox, r6 goes mental rips the guys head off, then proceeds to go on a killing rampage burning the bar down and then goes to a brothel to shoot some drugs get laid and do some more killing.
my main annoyance of triumph is, its a triumph, its ugly and stupid fucking annoying whineing noise! it doesnt sound like a bike. the motors not that bad, its not thrilling but it wont bore you to sleep, i just hate it as a package, and triumphs are old mans bikes. Did i mention the noise? honestley i followed ne once and all you can hear is this stupid whhhhuuuuuuuur. blah horrible bikes! theyre made of cheese as well so bits will probably start falling off them - almost as bad as ducatis.
yes i really do have nothing better to do ____________________ follow my racing season

yeah but maybe you need to ride the triumph for more than 2 mins and perhaps there is something there. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

Mate of mine purchased the 995i a good few months back and he is still utterly amased by it (I'm more amased that he got the train up to Scotland to ride it back and we are S.E. London)
2 of my brothers friends have the 675 and both think the bikes are great machines.
It may just depend on who you talk to and their own experiences with the bikes. ____________________ This is my motorcycle. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.
