 |
|
Hi all, I'm after changing the gearing on my 99 R1 to race pattern but with the standard setup it just wont work, The gear shift goes through the frame and thus will not move any higher. Its quite hard to explain so I have included a lovely paint drawing to illustrate.
I have a feeling its just a case of buying a new gearshift rod/connector but I can't seem to find anything. The rearsets are harris fully adjustable if that makes any difference.
Thanks guys sorry for the long winded post

some rearsets ive seen have 2 rods.
failing that, just angle grind the hole bigger. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. As you suspected, you DO need a new rod. When you get Harris new, you actually get a few rods with it as you even need to change it depending on how 'aggressive' you have the peg position (IIRC).
Contact Harris, they will supply you the correct one!
Then stick the race shift one on eBay and probably get twice as much as you paid for the normal shift one, purely coz it has 'race' in the description and people won't look up how much they cost from Harris!! ____________________ The purpose of life is to fight maturity. |
