Hello there. I have a Akrapovic end can on my 600rr and a PC3, I was just wondering if the maps on the DynoJet website were designed for use with the baffle inserted or removed? And will there be a power loss by removing the baffle?

You would be better getting a custom map made, the ones they supply are just a kind of average map for that kind of setup. I don't think you will notice any difference in power anyway. I didn't on the 1000rr. I just play with the maps a little to see what makes it feel better or worse.

Thanks baldy. Although you say no power gain/loss will be noticed does the removal of the baffle make a difference when using a PC3?

I thought one of the pro's of EFI was that for small changes like a baffle or air filter swap it sorts itself out with all its sensors?

Normally with a pc you disable one of the sensors that let the ecu's map change slightly depending on conditions. It's not always put in though as it says for track use only. (It's a little connector that looks like a tooth that plugs into where the lambda sensor goes.) I have played with the maps a fair bit and not noticed any difference in power, it just changed the throttle response.

So all in all will the stock engine/injectors be able to detect the change casued by the removed baffle and alter mixtures?

It is the lambda sensor that detects if the engine is running as it should. It can only adjust by a small amount. I have run my blade for 3 years on a map that is probably miles out and the bike runs just fine.

I wouldn't worry about it at all, unless the bike ran like a dog and it kept over heating.

I'd ring/email power commander, it is the only way to get the definitive answer really ...

At a guess (and it is only a guess) I'd say baffles-out! Thumbs Up

Thaks for all the help everyone. I think I will just remove the baffle from now (33BHP restricted at the mo) and keep em out when the PC3 comes depending on what DynoJet say when i email them Wink
