The police have capture houses to catch low lifes stealing,
The police have capture cars to catch low lifes stealing cars,
WHY DON'T THEY HAVE CAPTURE BIKES TO CATCH LOW LIFE STEALING BIKES!?
don't forget a bike is twice as likely to be stolen than a car, and more bikes are being stolen than cars. ____________________ current toys: Skygo SG125-J 125cc stolen again 1992 Kawasaki GPZ500S (crashed damaged) 1996 Renault Clio 1.2 2005 CG125 project |

How do you suppose they "capture" the thief? It's not like a car/house where they can lock you in.
A couple of the local forces have tried with bikes rigged with tracker type systems though.
Although I suppose they could use superglue on the seat. |

capture house and capture cars don't physically capture the theif.
Capture house has hidden cctv cameras to record criminal's faces and have trakable valuables such as laptops so that when they steal it, the police and trace them.
Same as Capture cars, they have hidden cameras in the cars and once they broke into the car, they would automatically sprayed with invisible dye so that police can identify them with UV light.
Why couldn't they do the same with bikes? ____________________ current toys: Skygo SG125-J 125cc stolen again 1992 Kawasaki GPZ500S (crashed damaged) 1996 Renault Clio 1.2 2005 CG125 project |

I think they just leave scooter's and dirt bikes around unchained. Just stuff the barrel with C4 first, then when some cider swigging, horrible spotty teen in a tracky manages to start it..................BOOOOM |

I would assume that the problems the police may face with this type of operation is there are really two types of bike theft, much different to car theft...
A. Toe rags who will target anything and everything, but usually the cheaper and more accessible bikes at an opportune moment, usually for a short and sweet joyride, that will come to an end a few miles/ 10 minutes later (whichever comes first) when they either crash it or get bored and end up torching it.
B. Proffesional thieves, who will probably know more about the bike than the average owner, who already have a route planned and have been scoping the bike for some time, they'll most likely recognize if it's been planted and they wouldn't touch it.
If it was the former twat then the chances are it would all be over before anything came of it, the police won't deploy a unit to respond at a moments notice because they have better things to do like handing out tickets
No seriously though it wouldn't make sense at all to have a unit potentially waiting all day for some son of a bitch to take a bike. |

I'd be tempted to leave the bike somewhere and sit somewhere hidden with a cross bow.
A recent case a bloke was a acquitted of murder when he shot a cross bow at an intruder, I guess it depends on your locale though as self defence in some places isn't allowed. Also you'd have to drag them into your house to claim defence!. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die.
