Full Bike Licence = Provisional Car Licence?

I'm starting to learn to drive soon and am wondering if my full bike licence counts as a provisional for a car. I assume I sent off my provisional in exchange for my full bike licence, but I can't remember.

My licence has the codes 'A' and 'kp' on the back if that helps.

I can't get any concrete information on this and the DSA helpline is the most bastardised phone system I have ever had the misfortune of trying to use so I am turning to the best source of knowledge on the internet, the good people of BCF.

So, does anyone else know for sure how it all works?

I thought this too but if you look on the paper counterpart you will see that it says you have the car provisional, so you are fine.

On driving lessons and my driving test my license was asked for and nothing was said, despite it not actually saying 'car provisional' on my card license.

What does your paper counterpart say?

It should be on there somewhere, the card doesn't reveal a lot.

From memory when I filled out my first driving licence application (motorcycle provisional), i'm sure there was a box that you had to tick if you wished for a provisional car entitlement as well.

I can't find a decent PDF of the form D1 online to check. They also may have revised it since.

I had a full bike license for 3 years before learning and did not do anything with my full bike license and it was fine to use as provisional car license.
