Hi,

I viewed this earlier in Bristol, it was for sale for £120 which sounded like a bargain until I viewed it. This guy has obviously bought it and has put it up on ebay looking for a quick profit (nothing wrong with that of course). I just wanted to give everyone a low down of what it's really like as the seller doesn't seem too forthcoming with giving much information of the state of the bike.

RG250 Mk1 on ebay

The Lowdown

Forks completely shot, both pitted really badly from the bottom to the top of the travel. Would need replacement/rechroming.

Front brake doesn't work, has a different master cylinder from another bike which leaks from the piston.

Rear tyre flat, bald and square.

Chain/sprocket dead.

Front fairings are fibreglass, have multiple broken lugs and are painted very poorly. The rears are original but also painted poorly and have broken lugs.

Rear shock has very little rebound dampening.

Exhausts are rotten, holes at headers and silencers are badly damaged.

Both seats ripped.

Everything that is painted will need repainting.

Most bolts and fixings aren't standard and are mismatched, lots of self tappers and cable ties etc.

Lots of cut wiring, scotch locks and after market spade connectors.

END

Hope this helps,
Jack

Judging by the pictures, it's either being sold by Michael J Fox of Muhammad Ali.

Good job tbh, the bad photo quality hides the truly fully fledged mingingness of that bike. It's beyond awful.....

I agree dude.

I also forgot to mention it only has a single disc up front, no provision on the wheel for another disc on the other side. Also no caliper mount for the caliper on the other fork leg either. I guess the front end on the bike is from a rg125?? So all of that would also need replacing:

Fork
Wheel
Disc
Caliper
Brake Line

Hi

Mk1 RG250s only had a single disk at the front.

Given the price of spares it will probably sell for rather more just to be used as spare parts.

All the best

Keith

That is a shed. It'll be a money pit. Far better to look about for a reasonable nick RG that doesn't need virtually every component replacing.

With the states it's in surely he would get a lot more breaking it?

Love the blurry pics Laughing

Indeed. There's no way anyone could take pics that badly accidentally (and then deem them suitable for using with an ad on ebay). Unless the guy's blind and has parkinsons Shocked

Exactly mate, hence why I posted this thread to avoid the potential disappointment of anyone who considered buying it. I feel sorry if anyone does.
