How often should carbs really be balanced, I was alright with doing the twin carbs on the GS, but now ive got the FZR with 4, im not sure how to do it and if its gonna be too much hassle a shop/someone on here wanting a few bob n drinks may do it for me!

Its probably going to need doing end of Feb, as it will take me that long to rebuild the bugger, but how simple is 4 carbs to balance..also whats a respectable price to charge for this service?

Cheers

I bought a carb balancer of ebay and by watching a few videos on youtube as the instructions wasn't exactly crystal clear i now do my own.it's quite simple and if you can do a twin a four will be easy.
kit cost about ?40 inc p&p.

saved me a bundle on labour costs.

Just find some videos and see if it's within your realm of capability then go for it

its not a difficult job, its just fiddly depending on the layout of the bike.

essentially, all you do is find vacuum feeds to all 4 cylinders and connect them to the gauge. (where these are entirely depends on the bike - https://www.carbtune.co.uk/yourbike.htm gives a run through of a few bikes) then adjust the vacuum to each cylinder until they're practically the same. blip the throttle and let it settle, re check - job done

the fiddly bit comes in the strip down (tank, side panels, seat and whatever else the manufacturer puts in your way) then hooking up some kind remote fuel tank. then working out how to access the really hard to get to screw with a tool.

i recommend the morgan carb tune over davida gauges i've used.

get tinkering, learn stuff and save some cash Thumbs Up
