ok, so im gonna take a feed from my rear lights and want to add multiple devices to it.

i.e.

Starcom Unit
Radio
Heated Grips
Inforad Motorcycle GPS
and maybe more gadgets lol

whats the best way for me to do this?

i was thinking using a scotchlok to splice into the feed, but then i need something that i can add these devices to, maybe a terminal type block? any ideas?

This is a relay switched terminal block that switches on/off with the ignition. I just used a Snap-Lock connector from Maplins to splice into the brake light wire:

Not sure how to calculate the power draw with all those devices, but I am sure you have thought of this already! Smile


that sounds ideal mate!

what kind of relay do i need to buy mate? any links to one?

Don't splice into cables, that's a good way of corroding your loom. If need be, use a piggyback spade connector to feed a relay.

It may be worth using the relay to supply a 4/6 way fuse box, and run each item from a separate fuse.

thats EXACTLY what im building at the mo.

ordered a little black plastic box from maplin, i have a standard automotive relay and bought a 4 way mini fuse box from halfrauds yesterday. https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_379579_langId_-1_categoryId_165562

im going to solder a metal strip across one side to join the connections and the relay 'on' circuit will feed into one of the connections.

im going to build it all into this little box with just the connectors showing allowing it to be weatherproof and you'll be able to mount it whereever you want. plugging things in is as simple as wiring up a spade connector and pushing it on Smile

i'll post back once i've finished it, just waiting for the box to arrive then i'll be building it this week.

not cheap like but they are available!

think im gona try and give it a go.
