Generally when going to a less restricitve silencer (assuming youve gone from stock to loud/louder) then slightly richer jetting will be needed.

I'd also try giving your idle screw a 1/4-1/2 turn out to richen the idle mix a little.

For a silencer I wouldnt imagine needing more than 1 or 2 jet sizes bigger.

yes the idle mixture screw. The screw only affects the idle mixture and doesnt help any further up the rev range.

The main jet yes.

my bike did originaly have an aprilia racing can it as standard and the arrow can is no louder,do you reckon i need to clean the carb all out before i just rejet, could it just be that the jets are bit blocked?or would it not run properly if this was the case.i have very limited mechanical ability you see.lol.

Ah! Possible there is crap in the carbs.

Remove the carby and give it a good clean with carb/choke cleaner spray, which you can get from any car parts place.

Refit, making sure all the clamps are secure and there are no holes in any of the rubber.

Also take the time to check your spark plug-may be worth replacing it if you've no idea when it was last replaced.

Also I'd check and replace your fuel filter if you have one fitted. Again you can buy one at halfords or any car place.
