I'd go for a 500 or bigger bike and restrict it tbh. ER5, ER6, Bandits, Hornets etc... ____________________ DAS 18/06/09 Off The Kerb Motorcycle Training. Proud owner of a Honda CG125 & a Honda Hornet |

I went from a YBR125 to a CB500 to a 600 Hornet. Was bored with the 500 very quickly and regretted buying it so I'd recommend skipping the 500 and go for the 600 ____________________ 05 Yamaha YBR125 > 94 Honda CB500 > 98 Honda Hornet 600 > 02 Yamaha R6 > 2000 Yamaha R1 > 2000 Yamaha XJR1300SP > 2000 Honda CBR929RR Fireblade

400/500/600 will do the job nicely. I wouldn't bother with a 250 personally unless you have a thing for 250 sports bikes. |

I ride 250s out of choice (I am too much of a wanker to ride anything more powerful), they are great round town, alright on trips up to Nottingham, terrible on very long trips.
However any larger bikes you get will be restricted down if I read you right so you will only be gaining a few BHP getting a larger bike.
If a 500 with a restrictor works out to be cheaper than local 250s get the 500. simples.

OLD BIKESSS
if you want something thats going to be dirt cheap, go for an old cb250. great solid bike like the CG its bulletproof will cruise at 70mph all day long so you can play it safe for the first 2years. You will definetly get one for less than 600 from ebay or somewhere else. and because its a classic the insurance will be cheaper.

although saying that i still went for a cb400 so just ignore me ____________________ Passed Module 2 on 8th of Feb

As I say to most people, look around this forum, there are tonnes of 'what bike next threads', write down the list of bikes you have seen listed, go onto google images, look at all the bikes. Cross off your list the ones you don't like.
Then go out to a few bike shops and look at the ones you do like, and if possible go for a test ride, (if able) if not, at least sit on the bike and get a feel for it - distance from seat to footpeg, how long the reach to handle bar is, that sort of thing...
Then make an informed decision based on what suits YOU. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |
