no idea about your particular bike, but find the starter motor and take off the nearest cover to it.
my SRAD had a dedicated cover for it, so you might have something similar. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!

on yamahas, the sprag is behind the flywheel,
take the side cover off, get a flywheel puller and remove the fly wheel, and the sprag will come out with it,
undo the 3 allen bolts that hold the sprag in place,
very rarely do the yamaha units fail, unless the idler gear is loose,
they sometime cause the sprag to crack,
when you put it all back togeather, put slightly longer allen nuts on the sprag and preen them (whack then with a punch to splay the end on the bold to stop them undo-ing themselves)
loc-tite the idler gear nut and fold over the lock, make sure every thing is up really tight,
yamahas have a tendency from the factory to have all the nuts just a little over finger tight, which causes the sprag and other bits early failure due to the movement,
its not a hard job, but take your time
good luck ____________________ the humans are dead

its not a particuly hard job,
probably about an hour,
drain the oil, remove the gear lever, undo the side cover (try not to wreck the gasket if you can manage it)
that gives you access to the flywheel and idler gear,
you don't need (if i remember rightly) a special flywheel puller,
just the standard "harmonic balancer" puller
https://www.miracerros.com/mustang/pulley_stock_puller.jpg
you need to tighten up the puller with the 3 bolts, then do up the center bolt untill its really tight (not so tight as it strips the thread)
then whack the center bolt with a hammer, its the shock that will release the flywheel,
once you have the fly wheel off she's all smooth sailing from there,
dont lose the woodrift key ____________________ the humans are dead
