I maybe being completely dense but i have done everything to make this bike run right and it just aint !!!!!!! .Its a zxr400h and im having an issue with the carbs , cleaned them , blown them out , checked and oiled cables ,checked the inlet rubbers (which are fine) , checked float heights ,main and pilot jets (correct sizes) ,adjusted the pilot screws (which were all out half a turn either way) to two and a half turns out from fully in ,air filter is fine , airbox rubbers are a pain to get back in but they're on and good ,diaphragms looked fine and work as they should ,im at a loss .

Symptoms are this ,,,, when bike is on its stand it runs faster than when its stood up , when stood upright it drops by about 300rpm ,also when coming to a stop and pulling the clutch in the engine holds at 2000rpm then drops to tickover ,but because of the side stand tickover being so much higher it means i have to turn it down which then in turn means when its stood upright the tickover is barely ticking over , , , its driving me mad ,, is there something im missing or is there a happy medium ?, bike runs fine on the road , till i come to lights ,pull clutch in and hey its running high , please tell me ive missed something , thanks for any ideas or help , am at the end ov my teather , aint got a garage so am out in the cold doing everything

Have you tried simply balancing them?!! Thinking ... if they are fighting one another then you are going to get some odd idling.

There is the lolly stick method - google it to find the full write-up Thumbs Up

The principle is to shove some lolly sticks in the carbs and make sure they start tilting/falling at the same time ... it is simple, and bound not to be as good as a proper vacuum balance, but at this point, you are only really looking at 'there or there abouts' sort of solution ...

Give it a go!!! Thumbs Up

There is also the water tube (manometer) method (google that too). Cool

Try turning the steering from side to side and see if the rev's pick up. Might just be a snaging cable.
