You mean take off the expansion chamber?

You'll bugger the power completely. They are there for a reason. Rolling Eyes

Are you talkning about a scooter exhaust?

If so, this small pipe is the restrictor for the exhaust. Its not the expansion chamber, its a chamber which makes the expansion chamber seem to the engine to be a larger volume. It makes the exhaust less efficient and reduces power.

If you remove it and seal the hole up, it should increase power.

Why don't you buy an aftermarket pipe, and when you come to sell the bike you can take it off and put original one back on, plus it will go a lot better with something like an arrow pipe on it.

Yes, it will need rejetting. You will also need to remove the other restrictors, although I'm not sure what they are on the Mito.

An aftermarket pipe won't make much difference over a standard derestricted one tho.

i've got mito and it's got a acerbid back box on it but i'm not sure if the expansion chamber part of it is standard or not. How can i tell? i had to put the standard back box on for the mot it and it was real hard to ride.
Also what sprockets would you recomend because it only does 100.

Craig.

Remember doing that will see you a loss of accleration, and maybe even a lower top speed. as i wouldnt say a 125 can budge past 100mph if its lucky...

And changing the gear ratinos so there taller will / maybe make the give be slightly out of the peak power band thus owering your top speed, or renderning your last gear crap...

i'd probably only go up gears id the cylinder was bored out... or i had some mods to make the engine put out more BHP.

Hi

It should be 14/41 or 14/43 for a Mito 1 (first for a Mito Racing, 2nd for a plane Mito) according to the workshop manuals

All the best

Keith

Hi

Mmm, suspect it a tank ran over it then it would be a plane Mito.

Oh well, it got past the spell checker. Anna will kill me for it though.

All the best

Keith
