i wanna see you rat, fighter or naked, and the progression of its evolution
ill start with my zxr750 h1
how i got the bike
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/IMG_0202Small.jpg
1 day later
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/PICT0560Small.jpg
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/PICT0532Small.jpg
next was the seat unit, and the mandatory black paint
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1040Small.jpg
and of course stubby the can
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1041Small.jpg
as you can see it had a remote filler for the rad... so that had to go,
and the original exhaust system rusted through so a stainless system was purchased
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1098Small.jpg
next on the cards was a speed3 single sider
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1100Small.jpg
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF0651Medium.jpg
lots of milling had to be done, along with custom linkages and a plethora of other stuff to make it work (all because someone told me it couldn't be made to fit on a zxr )
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF0661Small.jpg
don't i look happy i also got a custom link pipe made and fitted a fmf moto-x can
then i changed the headlight, and put on a usd front end
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1024Small.jpg
then made a new subframe, rewired the bike and had all the electrics under the tank (i was sick of repairing salted up connections)
i also changed the link pipe to get a better angle on the exhaust
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1027Small.jpg
and that was her,
https://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g257/hmmmnz/DSCF1025Small.jpg
hmmmnz's h1 rat fighter, the evolution.
now show us yours, more details the better. so these kids know how much work is involved ____________________ the humans are dead

I like that. When I saw the first picture I thought uh oh! But I think that's really cool! Polish the frame & swingarm & give the wheels a good clean & it'll look mental. ____________________ Current bikes: suzuki RG125UN wolf. Yamaha MT-07 |

yep i was right
sorry but why would you take a nice zxr750 that are gfoing up in value by the day and turn it into a scrap fighter?? |
im sorry if you don't get it, its barley worth explaining it,
but if you've ever ridden a zxr750 and are over 6' then you'll know.
people fighter all sorts of bikes, r1's busa's everything, and compared to them a shitty zxr is worth nothing, i have a nice classic 80's bike in mint condition which ill keep and which is actually worth money, the zxr isnt, wasnt and will never be, it was a commuter
this thread is here for people to post pics of there fighters and rats and show the work involved, not for some little tosser to have a whine about wrecking bikes, get a life douche bag ____________________ the humans are dead

Not my thing to be honest mate, but I appreciate the work thats gone into the bike It looks good, but if it was mine I would have kept it standard, however it isn't so thats irrelevant
I think this is a case of if you post something on a public forum then you should expect people to air their opinion, so its probably best to just ignore the negativeness ____________________ '84 TS50X, '91 TZR125, '89 CBR400RR, '91 VFR400R NC30, '98 R1

My old gpz750r ratfighter (yes, thats the 900rs little brother originally)
Came out of the factory like this:
https://www.westcoast-salvage.com/Used_Parts/Pre_85_Parts/Jurassic_Parts__Kawasaki_/gpz750r_.jpg
previous owners before me were of the rat mentality, and it came to me after a hard 60k miles.
not got any before pictures of the actual bike, but cost me 50 quid and wasnt pretty, this is how it went through mot after id bodged it to get it to pass asap.
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/deathtrap/gpz1.jpg
It later had a few changes and evolutions:
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/deathtrap/S8001071.jpg
Then it grew a screen
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/deathtrap/smallscreen.jpg
and a second headlight
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/deathtrap/th_2up.jpg
Then I got bored and chopped the arse off it
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/deathtrap/outsidenicks2.jpg
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/deathtrap/outsidenicks1.jpg
Then realised I need more beer transporting space for bike rallies, so this monstrosity was stuck together.
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/rat%20and%20survival%2009/S8000087.jpg
Using a reliant robin propshaft and whatever scrap steel I could scavange from industrial estate bins, It was a bit muddy at R+S last year.
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/rat%20and%20survival%2009/S8000112.jpg
ended up getting its nickname on the tank, and a tally counter of how many times I stacked it on the side pannel, along with a carbon fibre dakar bike exhaust with a tractor flap bodged on the top (which got shot at Mac_Kaliba on a random ride actually)
https://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg307/virusjohn/deathtrap/Image001.jpg
Then I killed it off again, it sat in my back garden since, has donated a few parts to various bikes, and its carcass got taken away in a trailer the other day to be rebuilt as a hardtail chop project sometime.
Cheers

Is that just one wheel? How stable was it? Is there any laws about lights, brakes etc for bike trailers? I know they have to be <1M wide.
I'm currently messing with my CBR to fighter/rat it and a trailer would just be the nuts for ralleys! lol |
Yes its one wheel, and yes it was horendously unstable and gave me sore shoulders from fighting the vibes on the bars, although I have 3 reasons for it handlin like that.
using a worn out reliant robin propshaft as a hitch, theory was fantastic but the bearing had colapsed so there was no resistance in it, new bearing and it feels like its got a steering damper fitted.
Uneven load, always load it with positive noseweight, as in more weight inbetween the bike and the wheel than hanging off the back of it, negative pressure on the hitch causes it to get a bit flighty.
Use of a square section trailer tyre on something that will inherantly lean around corners, I suspect this caused quite a lot of the tracking issues, but seen as I wont be towing til the next survival bike is finished I cant be bothered to put a moped tyre on it yet.
Google trailer law, you should find a company that make them who have a laws page, long story short, theres some weight limmits, lights have to be fitted, gotta be less than 1m wide and less than 2.5m from the bikes rear spindle to the back of the trailer, no height rules it seems but the higher it is the higher the centre of gravity and trust me you want that low if you plan on going round corners at anything less than upright.
Cheers

Hmmmnz...is that a Raptor headlight fairing?? If yes, keep an eye on it. I used one, and the standard bulbs melted the holding inside.. and I ended up getting mine cut out so I could then use twin spots as lights instead.
It looked okay, but at night was appalling...so I ended up removing the fairing completely. Actually been loosely looking for the Triumph Street Triple mini double layered fairing to use instead.
My bike was a standard curvey red naked sv...and now looks like this... ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |
