ive seen a kdx250 on ebay and was wondering if these are 33bhp legal?

im looking for a decent green laner what i can also use to mess around on the road abit with, for around a grand.

dont really know what to look for apart from a ktm 200, as i dont really want a 125 and i dont want a really high maintainance machine

Not too sure about the KDX. Consider a CRM250, bang on 33bhp, very simple machines to work on, good fun and not too stressed. Pretty okay for commuting on too!

i wasnt thinking of commuting. just pratting about.

iv seen a ccm 604 in the for sale on here. do you know if i could erm.. 'restrict' cough! that and get some off road wheels for it? or is that a bad idea

Don't know much about CCMs but it'll probably be quite a beast offroad with the weight and power.

I've heard they're a laugh on the road, though.

Might well ramp the cost up if it's not easy to get hold of offroad wheels. If a big 4t is on the cards you could possibly pick up a TE610 for within your budget, lots of which seem to come with both sets of wheels, and I expect they're lighter and more powerful.

I'd consider the CRM though, they're neat little bikes! I went from a VFR to mine and I didn't find the lack of power to be a problem. If you wait a bit they do show up with sumo wheels sometimes, particularly the later models and the AR one.

yeah thanks for the advice.

i think the te610 has really high maintainance doesnt it regarding oil changes e.c.t as its more a competition machine. the ccm is a more road based bike, thats all that got me thinking about one.

i like to ride bikes not mess about with them, although that is fun occasionaly

ill have a look into the crm tomorrow as its deffinately my bed time now. thanks

hi just to say, ive seen a 1991 crm 250r and the bloke seems to think that its alot more than 33bhp. are you sure they are 33bhp?

The TE610 is a road/trail bike similar to the KTM LC4 range. The CCM510 is the competition bike, which is similar to the KTM EXC range.
