heyyy

ive got my gilera gsm , had it rather cheap off a good friend of mine anyway , it revs all the way out when not in gear , but then when you put it into first an try to ride it , it potters along fine untill around 6000rpm then it bits a block wall an wont go any futher , i know its not restricted as i rode it when my friend had it an it went like a rocket firing lovley an pulling like a train , then one day i die's n wont start have change PISTON , BARREL , PLUG , HT LEAD , AN MAGNETO , but it was only a cheap second hand magneto so wondering if this could be damaged to stop it riding properly ? new cdi will be fitted this weekend to see if thats the problem

cheeers Thumbs Up

I agree, do this if you have not already.

Sounds like fuel starvation

Try not to run the bike near the range of engine revs that it stops accelerating at (the rpm that is, not speed acceleration). If it is fuel starvation you could do some serious heat related damage to the combustion chamber by keeping it struggling up there.
