Play in the throttle cable.... Where do you tighten it?

Got a wee bit of play in the cable. When you turn the throttle, there is a wee bit play before the cable actually pulls.

Where do you tighten the cable ?

At the hand grip or where the cable moves the mechanism ?

Doesn't look like you can adjust it at the engine end, so do it up at the handlebar. There should be a little bit of free play so that when you turn the bars from lock to lock, the bike doesn't rev up on its own.

Looks to me as if the screw at the very top of the picture will adjust the tension on the cable.

Pretty sure that's the idle control screw.

Mmm...

I rather suspect you are correct.

I faffed around with mine for ages, ended up getting a replacement cable. The adjuster was at the handlebar end for me, the cable goes through a hollow tube which is threaded at one end allowing you to turn it each way thus adjusting the cable. I could never get it right though.
