Hi im new to this form so if im doing anything wrong just say please,

I have a 53 plate yamaha jog-r, and from 0-15mph i have no problem acceleration wise and the same from 35-50mph is there anything i can do to make it better acceleration from 15-35mph? change the rollers ect? i already have a race pipe on and i also have 6 gr rollers in.

check that it has been properly jetted for the exhaust, you could try 5.5g rolers to increase acceleration,

Do check the front pully is sliding along the drive shaft, check the weights and check the drive belt is in good nick. Also the spring return on the rear pully could be knackered.

All cheap parts to replace.

On my brother's bike this was down to exhaust not sealing properly to the cylinder barrel causing the bike to hesitate and loose power as it worked it way up the revs

thanks, i was talking to a mate of mine and he recomened to but 4.1 gr rollers in, i also took the washer out just infront of the rollers for that bit more top end but now it was topping out at 35mph? so i guess the washer will be going staight back in tomorrow.

if you are talking about the washer inbetween the outter pulley and the variator ( where the rollers go) leave it out as that stops the belt moving the full way up the variator...

yeah, that is the washer i took out and now by bike is topping out at 30-35 mph? and before it would top out about 55mph any reason for this?

where the red circle is there is a tube which centres the variator, on the tube as factory standard there is a restrictor washer so the is no reason that i can think of why is will slow ur scooter down....

also in the green circle check that your clutch shoes arent glazed and just give them a qyuick clean up with enory cloth and brake cleaner same as the clutch bell...

nope they are standard restrictors same as nearly all scooters new out of the crate, piaggio, gilera, aprilia, yamaha etc.... Thumbs Up

same as all 50cc scooters are restricted for 30mph in the uk due to laws, the easiest way is an exhaust restictor or variator washer or fuelling.... take italian 50cc machine in the english market they have a variator washer, exhaust restrictors and have been down jetted for the uk... whereas u go to their country and they have none of these and will do 50mph + Wink

i have resticted the bike in everyway as it was done when i bought it, BEFORE i took the washer out i could do 50+mph now i have TOOK the washer out the top speed NOW is only 30mph i cant see how it would make it slower? cheers kosy
