I have a month to learn it on bass for an audition but I cannot read music. I've tried to put it into 3 different programs that will play it back but it doesn't seem to be making sense although I'm 100% sure this is down to my lack of music theory knowledge. From what I can gather it's in E? I know it's on the bass clef and I'm not inputting the notes onto a treble clef in the programs.
I've tried using Cubase 5 but I can't figure out how to edit the score easily to get the notes in properly. I've tried to tab it out using guitar pro but it just sounds weird and I'm currently trying noteworthy composer but it's just not making any sense.
Any help is gratefully received!!! ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

Ok quick lesson - the notes can be recognised by where they are on the lines or the spaces between the lines. From the bottom line (counting line, space, line, space etc) it's G, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A. If the note has a b next to it, it's "flat", if it has a # it's "sharp". Not sure about the guitar but on the piano a sharp is to the right of the note (black key), if flat it's to the left (black key).
You should be able to work out the notes from the sheet music using this and find something on line to play them from the note names - that'll give you an idea of the tune.
The rhythm you will have to guess at as I not going to attempt to explain it here
Hope that helps. |

Nein, they were Justin and Dan hawkins, neither of which was the bass player, for he was a pirate.

Well. I'm going to say - good luck with that one! I don't recognise it...
Starts with a syncopated upward phrase C -> F - > B down to a C#
Next bar, same upward syncopated phrase but C -> F -> C
Now the first bar again, but instead of holding the C# there's a fast little chromatic scale up (C# D Eflat)
Second bar again ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!
