If I ever go on a trip round Europe I will end up in Holland, not start there, otherwise I will spend all my money on weed and prostitutes and then fail.

Yep, I am Dance!

I'm very excited about it too, but I'm a tad worried about the long ferry crossing to start it all off, as I get horribly seasick Sick We're going Portsmouth to Bilbao and then offroad all the way back home.

I'm going, Croatia probably but not certain as I just make it up as I go. I've not booked any dates yet, not sure if i'll go soon while i'm not working or wait until June/July, would rather wait until the weather is scorching over there.

I've not crossed to Spain but haven't heard that it's particularly rough, going to France you wouldn't know you're on a ship. The slow ferry to Ireland is about the worst I've been on when it's choppy you get thrown off your seat if you're laying down. I recall Stinkwheel mentioning that the Shetland crossing is bad too.

Unfortunately I can get queasy on a lilo and the half hour crossing to the Isle Of Wight is about as long as my stomach can stand. The 24 hour ferry crossing is going to be testing and I've been told the Bay of Biscay is the worst bit Crying or Very sad

A mate and I are going to through Germany, to Budapest, then to to Zagreb and Split in Croatia, back through Austria heading to watch the Moto GP at Assen. Leaving mid June so will be soaking up the world cup atmosphere on the road!

I have done the Plymouth to Santander crossing a few times Tonka... It isn't that bad, we have only had 1 or 2 'rough' crossings. I remember going to bed one night and it was rolling around quite a bit. Woke up in the morning and it was the flattest I have ever seen the sea. I can think of another 'rough' crossing where quite a few people where ill (my brother included). Its hit and miss and I have found some types of swell worse than others.

They must have got a new boat as last time I checked the Portsmouth Bilbo boat was 48 hours! Laughing

I didn't do the booking as such, just was told which reference to add my place to, so you may well be right Shocked All I do know is that we board late on Sunday and then arrive on Tuesday, but I'd rather hoped it was early and due to not wishing to dock/unload until daybreak Praying

I've done that stretch of water, I quite enjoyed it, but then I don't suffer anything...there are a few things to do onboard though, like the mini cinema. I spent a lot of time on top deck watching the Right Whales and dolphins.

I had to switch cabin though, I found it hard to sleep in the lower deck, as it stank of petrol, that made me feel queasy. Thumbs Up
