Play in the throttle cable.... Where do you tighten it?

Got a wee bit of play in the cable. When you turn the throttle, there is a wee bit play before the cable actually pulls.

Where do you tighten the cable ?

At the hand grip or where the cable moves the mechanism ?

Hand grip until it runs out, then at the mechanism. Main reason is that it's easier to do at the grip.

There is supposed to be some play in the cable......

Usually around 3 m/m

You want to set it so it wont rev when you turn the handlebars to full lock.

I just tighten it at full lock till it revs then back off a bit.

Depends how much slack you like in your cable.

Personally I like very little, but I imagine if you're constantly doing U turns then you'd prefer more.

If it revs at all on full lock then it will fail the MOT. Last thing you want is to have unexpected power when making a tight turn.

hi ive got a speedfight 100 04 plate and my throtle cable has come loose from near the spak plug end(similar to pick on these posts)could i fit back myself?also would it stop my bike from starting as im having start problems also?
