Honda XR Engine Problem

I have bought a Honda XR 125L 2004 with a blown engine. I have heard that a CG 125 engine will fit, but I have also heard that the engine to frame bolt holes on the CG125 engine differ in size. Any advice would be good in relation to this matter.

Also could anyone let me know if there is a manual for the Honda 2004 model... will be doing a lot of the rebuild myself, so in need of a manual that will help.

I am aware that there are non Haynes manuals i.e.Clymer but not sure if this will be suitable for the model I have.

Im sure a CLR125 engine will fit.

By blown engine what do you mean?

The guy I bought the bike from said that the piston arm has gone... advice from a mechanic he took it to said that he should get rid of it.

Havent had a chance to have a real look at the bike as yet, but can see that he has cut wires randomly, so dont think the piston arm is the only problem hence me attempting to purchase an engine.

maybe it worth buying a engine from eBay, then you can keep the old one for spares, maybe you would be luck and be able to buy a crank and rebuild yourself couple of options for you

Yeah, thats the idea... buying an engine I mean, but like I said Im need of a manual to help.... and need to know if the alternative I mentioned will do the job.
Think it will from mateys reply, so just really now trying to establish if there is a manual that will help with the rebuild and any other issues that will probably be added to the mix in the process..lol
