Good makes of brake disc

Not after anything 'performance' just discs that are as good as OEM discs and decently priced. I figure EBC, any others?

I always though galfer where dear but they seem to be the same as EBC.

I'm not convinced with ABE, I had a pair of there fork stantions that pitted after a year, eventualy they rechromed then for me which took an age to do the finish is still not brilliant.

A bit of a bump so sorry for bringing it up.

Galfers, www.calsport.co.uk are doing a reasonable deal on their speed kits... you get about £100 off rrp.The only difference is that the discs are of the older wavy design. If you brakes are warped and need replacing, then galfer are about the same price as OEM if they're on sale. EBC's tend to be on the tier below. As always, i'd try to source OEM before I try for some aftermarket parts.

Galfer; first impressions (i've got HEL braided lines on the front too on a standard master cyl). The brakes work well in the wet. Less mass on the front is not really noticable. What I have found is that the galfer pads don't half generate brake dust! My calipers are covered in the stuff! Braking performance, there isn't any fade after prolonged use. After a gentle squeeze you can feel the lever feel harder.

On the whole, a worthy alternative. NB, Galfer and Braking both applied for the patent for wavy discs together and were pretty much the same company in the early years... however, galfer generally tend to be cheaper.

Armstrong discs are quite good for the price.
Really wear your pads down quick though.

I somewhat agree with the criticism of ABE, I got a pair of discs from them but they had such bad burr's on the edge i had to spend a good 30 mins with sandpaper to get it down to acceptable levels. They seem to work fine, but theres just something not quite 100% about the place, even though the guy seemed pretty decent...

Many moons ago I fitted new EBC discs to my MKI 1200 Bandit ... never felt that they were as good as the OEM!

£115 for TourMax
£135 for EBC
£156 for Galfer (off that other website posted near the top)
