Hi all,I recently changed my oil and filter on my 2000 r1,i done 100 miles today and from the start i was getting a squeak from clutch side when downshifting only(no other probs at all only squeak) does anyone have any ides,oil over fill,clutch basket? any advice would be great. Very Happy

Did you check the oil propperly afterwards, when you fill the oil after fitting a new filter about 200ml will be drawn into it lowering your level.
It might be a clutch cable adjustment issue, but i doubt it, did you change anything else?

nothing else changed just oil and filter,if anything i think there might be a little too much oil,will this cause me an squeak issue?

I imagine the R1 clutch is hydraulic operated? Has the lever been oiled with wd-40 or similar?

It is cable Wink

Where does the squeek come from? any particular area? Is it the shifter? lever? Towards the engine?

Mine did this, turned out that I had disturbed the exup valve.
The valve alters with the revs, so when downshifting it was moving.

how did you fix it,do you think i might have trapped the valve cables when replacing bodywork?
