is it really not that far..
I'd say walk/pushbike
But a nice quick plod to work, it might be alright.
I'd stick with a 125 for a small commute like that. |

80mpg is probably do-able.
You prefer older looking bikes? fair play.. i dont mind them as commuters, dropping them doesnt do too much damage |

i used to have a CD250, which i actually sold for a hornet lol.
in reference to that auction
- its missing the chrome grab rail at the back
- the standard twin exhausts have been replaced with a single
- front mudguard is different colour (obviously)
- missing fork gaiters
- tank has a big dent in it
they are good bikes, mine was in excellent condition IMO (apart from the spokes, which were cleaned up sometime after this pic lol)

nice and easy to ride, very forgiving. i got 100 miles to a full tank (about £8 to fill up) ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Honda CD 250 > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda CBR 600RR > Yamaha RXS 100 > Kawasaki ZX6R J2 > Yamaha FZ1 |

They are a very well put together motorcycle. The engine it is based on first came out in the late 1960's so any issues they had should have been ironed out by now. They were expensive to buy new because they did make a good job of building them.
Slow and heavy by modern standards (well, even compared to the 60's ones, they are significantly detuned) but overengineered. Should run forever with regular oil changes and a modicum of maintainance.
Aircooled so shorter commutes and town work shouldn't unduly bother it. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
