Hello peeps,

I have recently aquired myself an NS125R-K, I got it as a non starter and had a little play but i cannot get it to start, it has fuel, spark, compression (poor mans test), checked reeds ok etc, i havent had the head off yet but this is next on the list of jobs depending on the answer i get here! Anyway! I was wondering if the wealth of knowlege in BCF could tell me if there is any other larger capacity engine that could be fitted into this frame without too much hassle (a bit of hassle is ok!), i dont really want to go down the route of big bore kits but i do fancy a bit more power than the 125 puts out if its at all possible, well you never know until you have asked and i have asked...

Hi

Only engine that I would expect to fit in fairly easily would be an MTX200, and they are pretty rare.

All the best

Keith

Hi

Suspect you could squeeze something like a CR250 engine in there (being fairly small), but I expect it would be a pain without a charging system and would probably vibrate.

All the best

Hi

Possible, as I would suspect the mounts would be similar, but I would be far from sure and think that being a road engine it is a bit bulkier which might be an issue squeezing it in.

Think the MTX just needs different length spacers for the same mounts (going from vague memory from 20 years ago).

All the best

Keith
