Will this fail an MOT? The ball has snapped off the end but it seems like it has been smoothed off so isn't sharp.

Gash! I've got a replacement but I'm struggling to remove this one as the retaining pin/screw is seized in there to buggery and is rounded off to the max.

It will come out but with a lot of struggling, so I'd better crack on then! lol

my armstrong passed with a snapped break lever three years running,

as long as it's just the ball end that's gone & not half the lever with it, there shouldn't be a problem

sand it nicely ans polish it up then do the other side the same, loads of bikes (granted older ones) come without bobbles on the levers.

my xs400 just passed an MOT with the exact fault as your bike has, the missing ball was marked as an advisory, but not a fail

Cheers for the info in regard to its being able to pass MOT if snapped, will come in handy for future reference. But I managed to sort it out using cobalt drill bits, impact driver and a punch. Success!

I know they can't test what isn't fitted! But I'm pretty sure you'll need a front brake lever.

Is that a CG?

He's going to push the master cylinder with his finger, like a stop button for his bike.
