Good afternoon! My name is Steve and I work for a company in Plymouth who are helping to organise an event called the March For Honour for the 2010 Poppy appeal.

We have just been given a motorbike which I am getting on the road to use as a race marshals / promotional bike.

The bike is a chinese motocross (lifan gy3) which was lightly dropped a year or so and garaged. Not the best bike in the world, but it's relatively new, (57 plate), looks quite smart, and it was free!

I'm putting it back together, reattaching indicators etc, giving it a polish and it was all going well until I tried to fix the new headlight unit I bought off ebay.

The current headlight unit has a 4 pin plastic connector with the wire colours I am familiar with from wiring plugs at home (brown, green, white, brown/white etc). The new one has a 3 pin connector with only three wires - red, black and blue, which seem to be split into two sets of three for the main and dipped beams in the headlight unit.

Does anyone know what goes where, or where I can get an adaptor? I can post pics when I get home this evening if that helps. I'm fairly practical, but I've never mended a bike before, so I'm hoping someone can help before I have to start licking wires to check what does what. The indicators are also weird colours, but as there are only two wires I think i'll be able to figure that one out!

Many thanks,
Steve

being chinese.. dont expect it to last.

But, you can always grab a multimeter.. find out which ones ground, live and high beam.. im not sure how they work.. but if i was working on a chinese bike...id cut and stick wires Laughing atleast its better than a factory fit Wink
