Wr 125 not running

Well, the bike was running fine then will not start.
Battery fine and turns over but nothing, have noticed the pump not priming so fuse, pump, relay or What? anyone had the same and do the fuel pumps fail?

Left it for a bit and now it starts!!
Does the pump sometimes stop if it gets to warm?
and can you swap it out with this, anyone?

Yam's fuel pumps on the YBR's certainly do that. If it's the same pump used, then yeah, it's likely. There was a thread on here about it.

Thanks, will need to look into this as I didn't know it could be a common problem with Yamaha pumps when hot/warm.

My WR125 had similar fault and gradually got worse until wouldn't start at all. New fuel pump (expensive) sorted this out and has been ok for last 3 yrs. My 2010 wr had this problem in 2015 at 7500m but has been ok ever since and now on 16000m. Thought problem had returned in 2017 but it was the much cheaper ignition coil that needed replacing. Fuel pump can be removed and tested on a 12v battery supply. This was supposed to be only a common problem on early WR's and YZF's built before 2012. Haynes manual is quite good if you can get a secondhand copy.

Hi,
Did you replace the pump in the white plastic bit or the whole assembly.

I looked at some kits but could not work out how the moulded plastic housing could be split, to get to the pump, without risk of damaging plastic parts that would need to be re-used. I bought the whole unit instead. Ebay often has secondhand ones. Unfortunately, i do not know if other 125 yamaha's have identical pumps.

I've seen them on EBay £45 in the plastic so will go with that option and also easy to swap out. Very Happy
