As per the thread title. I'm after a new lid soon and I've always wondered if the rain and water gets into the vents and subsequently onto your head. The logic part of my brain is saying "Why would a manufacturer design something that would be an inconvenience in the rain?"

So, anyone got a lid with the mesh vents that dont close? E.g. some of the shark or RST lids? Experiences?

Thanking you kindly

It is a non-problem to be honest ...

My Craft RX5 had open vents on the chin. If it rained, you got wet.

Not on any semi-well designed lid at least.

Well, I'll see if I find one with closing vents and if not I'll have a go with a non-closing one.

Cheers

Aren't they supposed to be only used in cars though?

The 'gill' type vents on the side of the Justissimo don't let any water in. Just a shame it's like putting a vacuum cleaner on your head as regards to wind noise.

They are not a problem.
My £560 Arai and my latest £460 Schuberth both piss water in through the rubber surround of the visor.

A few hours riding in torrential rain and the small air vents letting in a drop of water are the least of your problems. Wink
