So the gixxer keeps intermittently cutting out. Still have all lights on the dash just no bang. On the display where the trip usually is it displays 'check'. Not 100% certain on this but the red ignition light also blinks. The bike has an alarm system so that could be causing it. The side stand switch doesn't seem to work either. I'm guessing it's one of these two. Going to check for continuity on the brake switch. How do I check the alarm system? Anything I should check?

A pals K5 did this when his tip sensor went on the blink.

OP - is it doing it when you're riding it, or when it is parked. You don't specify.

I too was the victim of a tilt switch, but only when the thing was moving (switch was the wrong way up, cut out at 10 degrees rather than 80 or whatever).

both.

Once I was stopped at a set of traffic lights. Went to pull away and it cut out, at first I thought I just stalled it. Also when I've been riding. All times (so far) have been going in a straight line.

I checked continuity on the switch and was giving a reading ranging from 20ohms to 200ohms when closed. So far I've disconnected the switch and bridged it with a pair of mini spade crimp connectors. Went for a 50-60mile ride out last night and everything seemed fine. Going to leave this for a week and see what happens.

CHEC can also appear when the kill switch is on or the side stand is down. May be worth checking these if the TOS isn't the cause.
