hi all,
mate of mine has got a little trail bike for his 10yr old son., think its a yamaha yz90.
anyway, he reckons its a bit fast for a 1st bike, so we are wondering what would be the best way to restrict it?
i was thinking of some kind of throttle stop?
anyone any ideas?
cheers,
GAZ

A slice of plastic water pipe on top of the throttle slide which prevents it opening fully is one I've heard of before.

Ditto
but make sure its suitable with petroleum based chemicals Rolling Eyes otherwise it could melt causing all sorts of problems.

Or better still, do same using washers but measure the slides bore & the OUTSIDE DIAMETER of the washers to ensure they will fit. This mean you can easily (see *top tip* below) add to, or remove some/all, to suit your sons needs as his ability grows.

*TOP TIP*
Whatever method you choose make sure you cut a small slot in them wide enough to slide the throttle cable through, so you can feed the throttle cable into the centres without the need to remove/refit the slide from the throttle cable. It can be a real pain in the 4RS3 otherwise & very time consuming too Wink
