125 raptor 2 stroke .....
When going to the shop for 5 mins, do you turn the petrol off ..
First thing ride, when do you turn choke off .....
Pulling away only seems to work with loads of revs, no rev counter don#t help nor does being 17 stone .. carrying a 2 m almax chain on the back seat ...

You'll either be a leave it on or a turn it off bloke.
Mine is on all the time. I know the risks
As for pulling away on a 2T. You'll get there and your clutch slipping skills will improve.
I start with full choke..it fires...i push choke in a bit till it will run slower without stalling. I get on and ride. If it bogs down on throttle i ease more choke off. After about 2mins i can knock the choke off.
[edit] good tip if you flood it is to turn choke off. Open throttle 3/4 and start.

Choke on when you start up while putting your lid etc on then off when you start riding. Take it easy until the bike warms up.
Thats what I do
As for loads of revs to move, I thought 2 strokes were meant to be like that? (chives will know better) ____________________ Bikes : 2006 CBR125R - 2004 Monster 620ie - 2004 ZX-6R B1H - 2005 Monster S2R 800 - 2011 Street Triple - 2009 Streetfighter 1098 - 2014 ZX-6R 636

The thing is the dealer told me that they are prone to slipping into first, especially when new, which does not help idle choke when he says start up sat on the bike clutch in ...
As for ist gear, it's just poor clutch control at present ... ____________________ Fuk um !! |

With my first bike I stalled it lots, you'll find that bite point soon enough and after a little while will be able to sort it all out without thinking about it.
Just keep at it ____________________ Theory test - 19/8/09, CBT - 11/10/09, MOD 1 - 16/8/10, MOD 2 - 27/10/10

Fuel tap I'd leave on unless you're leaving it for a couple of weeks.
Slip the clutch in first.
It's better to over rev than to under rev.
Full choke at first, than half choke, then turn it off and ride.
(This what I did with a 2 stroke 125, from memory, without any problems.)
